Modular mobile whiteboards

For us, this is a complete game-changer. We simply fold the A3 sheet in half to A4 and instantly have a small booklet with four writable pages. It's a dream come true for complex projects. The topic, such as a forest garden project, is written on the front, and inside we have plenty of space for details. The booklet stays open as long as the project is running. Once it's finished, we take a photo and wipe it away.

We often notice that A4 paper encourages making lists. A3 gives us much more mental freedom. It's like a small desk pad on which we automatically start drawing and creating mind maps. Simply more space for wild thoughts, without having to lug around a huge board.

The roll really fits in any backpack and makes us totally flexible. The best part... When we're on the train, we simply stick the sheets to the window with water. Bam, a meeting board right by the window. Or we can divide them up. One for you, one for me, and one in the middle.

At home, these things often end up on the fridge for our weekly planner. But we especially love combining them with cards and notes. We lay out the large sheets as topic areas and then cluster them around using the smaller formats. It doesn't get more agile than that.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I smooth the sheets after unrolling them?

Simply roll back.

Since the sheets are delivered rolled up, they will have some initial tension. Simply roll them carefully once in the opposite direction. They will then lie flat. Please never use a hairdryer or iron, as the heat would cause the material to warp.

How do I get the leaves onto the wall?

Water for the glass. Wax, tape, or needles for the rest.

You have almost endless possibilities.

  1. The water trick: Wet the back and stick the sheet to windows, mirrors, or smooth doors. It holds incredibly well.
  2. Infinity Wax: For rough walls like plaster or wood, use our wax flakes. They adhere strongly and can be removed without leaving any residue.
  3. Old school: Because the material is so tough, you can easily pin it up with thumbtacks without it tearing. Painter's tape or poster strips also work great.
  4. Magnetic: It attaches to the refrigerator or whiteboard in the classic way with a magnet.

There are many other possibilities.

Can I cut or fold the leaves?

Yes. It cuts like butter and folds without breaking.

That's the amazing thing about this material. It's extremely tear-resistant, yet it cuts like butter with ordinary scissors. You can easily cut the A3 sheet to size or punch holes in it for a binder. The edges won't fray. But the best part is folding it. Unlike cardboard, the fold line won't crack or tear, even after hundreds of folds and unfolds. So you can fold it without worry to create your own A4 booklet.

Which pen should I use?

For repeated use: Frixion pens (or similar).

Theoretically, you can write on it with a ballpoint pen, pencil, or fineliner. But the real trick is wiping it off. For that, you need heat-sensitive ink like the Pilot Frixion or similar pens. You can find these pens (the ones with an eraser at the end) everywhere these days. You can also order them from us. They write incredibly smoothly, and everything disappears with a damp cloth.

Felt-tip pens also work very well and are brighter, but require more intensive cleaning.
Want to capture something forever? Then use a permanent marker. It'll last.

What do I do if I don't have water to wipe things up while I'm out?

A tissue and saliva will do in a pinch.

It sounds rustic, but it works. Since StonePaper doesn't absorb liquid, you only need a tiny bit of moisture to dissolve the paint. A damp tissue is perfectly sufficient. For a thorough cleaning at home, simply use a sponge and water.

May I put the sheets in my printer?

Absolutely no way!

This is the most important warning. StonePaper is heat-sensitive. It would melt in a laser printer and destroy your device. Inkjet printers also don't work well, as the ink barely dries on the material. Please use the A3 sheets exclusively for handwritten ideas.

Can I also draw on it with a pencil?

Yes. Even underwater in the bathtub.

This is a real highlight. You can write with a pencil as normal and erase it with an eraser. But the absolute amazing thing is that it even works underwater. So you can take the sheet into the water and write there. Just be careful with very hard pencils, as these can sometimes leave indentations in the material that can't be removed.

Does the writing smudge when stacked or mixed?

Give the ink a moment. Then it will be safe.

Stone paper doesn't absorb ink like cellulose paper. It sits on the surface. This creates that buttery-smooth writing feel, but it also means: wait a moment. Give the ink a few seconds to dry. Only water or strong friction will remove it.
